Children of Veterans who may be eligible for the ‘Helpless Child Designation’ VA Pension

The Helpless Child designation is available to children of U.S. Veterans who, before the age of 18, became permanently incapable of ever becoming self-supporting.

Finally, if the child ever worked for regular wages, but can’t work now, the child won’t be eligible for the Helpless Child Designation, but may be eligible for Social Security Disability.
